Product description
This ART 2 alarm chain lock from SXP will deter thieves when trying to steal a bicycle or fatbike. This is because the chain lock has a built-in alarm system, which can be switched on/off with a simple turn of the key. Once switched on, the movement of the lock body will trigger the alarm. With the first movements, the lock will start with ten warning beeps. Does the chain lock then continue to move? Then the alarm will activate, with the volume rising to 110 decibels. Perfect, when the two-wheeler is parked in an area with a high risk of theft. Is the risk of theft minimal? Then the alarm can be simply switched off, to rely on the power of the chain lock.
This powerful ART 2 approved chain lock has a hardened steel lock body, which is resistant to lockpicking, sawing and drilling. This combined with the 8.5 millimetre thick square alloy steel links, makes the lock even stronger. To prevent frame damage when using the chain lock, the chain links are encased in a soft nylon cover. Furthermore, the lock cylinder can be sealed off from dirt and moisture via a sliding cover, so it remains clean and functional. Comes with 2 keys.
Alarm operation
Starting position: the chain lock is open, with the lock pin out of the lock body.
Switching on alarm mode
Insert the lock pin into the lock body and turn the key 180 degrees (locked).
- Hear a beep? Then alarm mode will be activated in 15 seconds. The key can now come out of the lock housing. After 15 seconds, a second beep will sound to confirm that from this moment on, the chain lock will alarm on movement.
- Don't hear a beep? Then turn the key back 180 degrees (lock open) and again 180 degrees (locked). Now you will hear the beep, and in 15 seconds, the alarm mode will be activated. The key can now be removed from the lock body. After 15 seconds, a second beep will sound to confirm that from now on, the chain lock will alarm on movement.
Switching off alarm mode
Insert the lock pin into the lock body and turn the key 180 degrees (locked).
- Hear a beep? Then turn the key back 180 degrees (lock open) and again 180 degrees (locked). Now you will not hear a beep. The alarm mode is switched off.
- Don't hear a beep? Then alarm mode is off.
